TRIBUTE artists are warming up their vocal cords in support of a worthy North-East charity.

Performers will ‘Back the Butterwick’ with special concerts at two venues in the area over the coming weeks.

Seventies ensemble M Town take to the stage on Friday, August 16, at Tindale Crescent Working Men’s Club, in Bishop Auckland, with a medley of toe-tapping hits from the decade of soul and flares.

The concert starts at 7pm, with classics from Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Four Tops, The Drifters, Frankie Valli, Billy Ocean, Chaka Khan, and many more.

There will also be a Best 70s Fancy Dress competition, with a prize for the best entry, and a disco will follow the live music. Tickets cost £8 each.

A tribute to pop sensation Pink will take place the following week, on Sunday, August 25, at Shildon Civic Hall.

The Almost Pink Tribute Night will feature a selection of the superstar’s biggest tracks from a stellar career that has spanned two decades. Doors open at 7:30pm, and tickets cost £6 each.

Money raised by both events will go towards supporting the work of Butterwick Hospice Care, and tickets for both performances are available by contacting the fundraising team on 01388 603003.
