THOUSANDS of pounds is available as grants to help organisations run activities for youngsters.

The 3 Towns Partnership has launched its £20,000 Summer Holiday Activity Grants Funding.

The scheme aims to support community groups and organisations based in Crook, Willington, Tow Law and surrounding villages to deliver holiday activities during the long school holidays.

Applicants can apply for a grant of between £250 and £5,000 for activities for babies to 19-year-olds during the 2019 summer school break.

Projects that seek more than £1,500 would be expected to deliver activities at multiple locations within the area or over several days or weeks during the holiday period.

Applicants are also encouraged to provide a healthy snack or lunch as part of the activity.

Application forms can be requested from 3 Towns Partnership by calling 03000-267539 or emailing threetownsaap@durham.gov.uk

All fully completed applications and supporting documents must be received by the Area Action Partnership by 10am on June 17.
