A HOSPICE will invite the public through its gates to join staff and volunteers for a special event marking its 24th anniversary.

Butterwick Hospice, on Woodhouse Lane, in Bishop Auckland, will hold the celebration on Friday, June 21.

The hospice will open up its gardens for a western style party, from 7pm that night.

It will include a barbecue and live country music from wonderful Hayley McKay and organisers promises plenty of fun and games to take part in.

Fundraiser Milly Toner said: "This year, 2019, Butterwick Hospice in Bishop Auckland will have been open 24 years– a fantastic achievement and we couldn't have done it without the help and support of volunteers and the local community and businesses."

There will be a bar selling alcoholic and non alcoholic refreshments and cowboy hats will be on sale for £5, from reception on and during the event.

Tickets are £5 per person, which includes one burger from the barbecue. They can be purchased at the hospice reception or by calling 01388-603003.
