A HOUSING association has completed a deal to bring new affordable homes to Chilton.

Believe housing will offer 11 three-bedroomed family homes for affordable rent at the Peerfields development, after securing a deal with builder Avant Homes. The properties are expected to welcome their first tenants this month.

Believe housing is investing more than £70m in bringing affordable homes to communities across County Durham.

Nick Bradshaw-Hughes, development officer at believe housing, said: “We are passionate about providing new, high quality and affordable homes in as many parts of the region as possible. These homes in Chilton are a key part of what we’re looking to achieve.

“The houses are being built to a really high standard and reflect our commitment to providing a variety of affordable housing options for hard-working families.

“We’ve already completed new homes in communities stretching from Rookhope in the North Pennines to Seaham on the Durham Coast. Over the next three years we’ll be bringing extra affordable homes to dozens more communities across the region.”
