YOUNGSTERS have celebrated after being selected to lead a parade ahead of a town's medieval fair.

Imogen Groves has been crowned flower queen and will take part in Sedgefield Medieval Fair on Saturday, May 18.

The 11-year-old will be joined by her attendants and fellow Sedgefield children Paige Hymer, ten, Hannah Davey, seven, and five-year-old Martha Edge.

The event has been organised by Sedgefield Community Association and will see the flower queen and her attendants lead the children's parade through the town, in a horse driven carriage, at the start of the fair.

This year's event will be based on the film The Greatest Showman.

It will see circus skill activities take place on the lawns at Ceddesfeld Hall across the day.

The fair will also include medieval combat and living history displays, a falconry display, bouncy castle and refreshments.

The medieval event will take place across the town green and Ceddesfeld Hall from 10am to 3.30pm.
