TEESDALE ArtNet, a networking group for artists living and working in Teesdale, is preparing to hold its third Meet the Makers open studio event this month.

A total of 13 artists from across the dale will open their studios to the public from Saturday, May 4 to Sunday, May 12.

The event is designed to connect rural artists with one another and those who appreciate art. The public are invited to visit artists in their homes and studios, view their work and learn about their techniques and inspiration.

Artist Judy Caplan said: "Open Studios is a great way to meet people who are interested in your work - and want to find out more about your techniques. It’s also lovely to sell work straight from the studio - so often selling work is done through a third party, a gallery or a shop. To me, making personal connections is the most important aspect."

Bus tours will also take people into the heart of Teesdale and workshops will also be on offer at subsidised rates.
