MIDDLETON-IN-TEESDALE and Newbiggin Parish Council will hold a combined community forum and annual parish meeting on Tuesday May 7, from 7pm, at Middleton-in-Teesdale Village Hall.

The Annual Parish Meeting is an opportunity for members of the community to discuss parish affairs, as well as find out what the parish council has achieved over the past year and plans to do in the next year.

Parish council chairman, Councillor Andy Mitchell, said: “We’d like to see as many people come along as possible – whether they’re representing a group, or just coming on their own out of interest — to find out what’s available on their doorstep.”

Cllr Mitchell added: “We’d like to be a catalyst to bring together the many and diverse groups, clubs and organisations which there are in Middleton and Newbiggin. People often tell us that they don’t know what’s going on, or what some of these groups do. What we’re offering is the opportunity for as many groups as possible to ‘showcase’ their work and activities and perhaps attract new members or volunteers at the same time.”

Any organisation wishing to have a stand at the event, or if you would like more information contact the parish clerk, Judith Mashiter, on 01833-640893 or email clerk@upperteesdale.org
