A CENTRE which provides training and education to adults with learning and mental health issues has improved workspaces for users.

Endeavour Woodcrafts in Ferryhill enables visitors to take part in woodwork and crafts in a real manufacturing environment.

The centre, on Darlington Road, has recently renewed lighting throughout, replacing old fluorescent lighting with new energy efficient lights.

Louise Killip, training centre manager at Endeavour said: "The previous fluorescent lighting had been in place for over 20 years and was in desperate need of updating.

“The new lighting has enabled us to continue our valuable work within the community. The space is much brighter and cleaner and we are so pleased to offer improved working conditions to our service users."

The improvements were made possible with funding from County Cllr Peter Atkinson who used the Neighbourhood Budget via the 4 Together Partnership, allocated for projects in the local community.
