A CHARITY which runs a host of community and social initiatives has won praise for its work with employees.

The Cornforth Partnership has achieved the Bronze Quality Standard as part of the Better Health at Work Award, delivered by the Newton Aycliffe-based Pioneering Care Partnership.

Over the last 12 months, health advocates within the organisation, based in West Cornforth, have worked hard to implement various activities and campaigns aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of their employees.

Initiatives have included lunch time walks, stress awareness sessions, information around healthy eating, mental health and cancer.

As a result of the engagement in the campaigns, The Cornforth Partnership was nominated for a special ‘newcomer’ award and was successful in achieving it.

Health advocates are now working towards the Silver Quality Standard and have big ideas including a team rowing task. Colleagues will use a rowing machine and tot-up the miles until they have done the equivalent of rowing from Durham to London in ten days.
