IT'S showtime for a band of Wild West performers.

Spennymoor Stage and Song will present Calamity Jane at Spennymoor Town Hall this week.

Opening tonight with a 7pm show, the musical will run at the same time every night until Saturday, April 13 when there will also be a 2pm matinee performance.

Liam Etherington will play Wild Bill Hickok and Wendy Hindmarch, new to the group but not the stage, takes the title role.

The producer is Eric Hickson– who has again made all scenery and props, music director Martyn Jones and the choreography is by Ann-Marie Clayton.

The saloon doors will swing open 30 minutes before the curtains go up.

Tickets are £8.50 from De Hickson on 01388-816400 or online at ticketsource.co.uk

The society is also thinking ahead to its 2020 offering, when the pantomime will be Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and its April show will be Annie.

Open auditions, which will include the search for seven to 12-year-old girls for Annie, will be held in the summer and details will be shared the group soon.
