AN Easter egg hunt will be held to raise money for improvements to a children’s play area.

Volunteers will hold a fun-filled afternoon as part of a fundraising drive to improve the children’s play area at Wesley Terrace, in Middleton-in-Teesdale.

The group were delighted by the turn out at a consultation event in February which raised £540 for the play area fund.

Volunteer Ali Collinson said: “We are so grateful to all the families who came along and told us what they would like to see in the play area.

"It was particularly useful to hear what the children loved to play on.

“Thank you to everyone who has completed the survey and made generous donations. We have raised more than £3000 so far, but we still have a long way to go."

The Easter event will be held on Sunday, April 14, at 1pm, at the Masonic Hall, in Middleton-in-Teesdale.

The event is £1 to pay on the day, children attending the event must be accompanied by an adult.
