VISITOR attraction Raby Castle welcomed more than 10,000 visitors at the weekend to its biggest ever festive market.

Shoppers stocked up at 25 stalls featuring local producers and a wide selection of food, drink and gifts and enjoyed music from the No Added Sugar choir.

Young visitors particularly enjoyed the indoor Enchanted Festive Forest Forest Elf and Fairy Trail with Christmas crafts, which continue daily until December 23.

Claire Jones, head of leisure and tourism at Raby Estates, said: “There was a great atmosphere and we would like to thank everyone who came along to support us. A visit to Raby is clearly a well-loved Christmas tradition for many families and we were delighted to see them.

“The festive feeling will continue right the way until Christmas at Raby with our tearooms, gift shop and indoor trail open every day and of course Christmas trees grown locally on the estate.”

A few extra tickets have been released for Raby Castle’s sell-out Fireside Stories and Songs with Father Christmas, for details visit
