SCIENCE, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects were brought to life for schoolpupils in Bishop Auckland.

That's after children at Evergreen Primary School used the Titanic as the theme for the Fabulous Finish school topic.

A skills learning showcase gave each class the chance to investigate their own Titanic project which included everything from building their own boats in the school's hydrotherapy pool to making videos and photographic displays.

Parents and visitors then joined the school to view their projects on Thursday, November 22 where the Evergreen Engineers also made a bridge with the Institute of Civil Engineers.

Deputy headteacher, Faye James, said all 120 children thoroughly enjoyed the day.

"They had a great time and there were lots of positive comments," she said.
