TOW Law residents can find out more about how local charities and organisations can help at a special event.

The free information and advice event takes place in Tow Law Community Centre in Ironworks Road on Wednesday, July 4, from 10am to 2pm.

Representatives from a range of organisations and charities who operate in the area will be present and can explain more about the different services they provide.

Organisations attending the event include Durham Community Action, County Durham Housing Group, Health Watch County Durham, County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service, the Alzheimer’s Society, Wheels for Work, County Durham Rescue Mission, County Durham Residents’ Association and Auckland Youth Centre.

Residents can also access advice on recycling, consumer protection, energy efficiency, home improvements, support for carers and the benefits of using credit unions.

The event is being organised by Wear Valley Community Action Group with support from County Durham Community Foundation and the Big Lottery Fund.

It is open to residents of all ages and refreshments and a buffet lunch will be provided.
