A MAN is seeking help to trace a half-sister he has never met.

Eight months ago, Paul Treadaway discovered he may have another sibling living in the Spennymoor area, and he now is appealing to anyone in the area who may be able to help him to get in touch.

His father, George Treadaway was born in London but moved to Swindon in 1952 with the Army, serving as a physical training instructor. On leaving the Army, George, who died two years ago, became a long distance lorry driver and worked for JWQ Transport and BRS in the mid 1960s.

Paul, who lives in the South of England, said: “He travelled a lot to Spennymoor and stayed in digs in the area. I know he knew a lady who had a daughter with ginger hair but whether my dad stayed with her or just knew her I do not know.”

He added: “I only found out about this eight months ago. Now that my mother has passed away I feel that I can try to find out more.

“I know it’s not a lot to go on but any help would be appreciated.”

Paul has shared a photograph of his father in his younger days in the hope it may jog someone’s memory.
