Some folks will do anything for a good cause and Caldwell's Deny Holden is no exception.
Last Sunday, December 16th, Deny underwent a Samsonian transformation by having her hair shaved off in return for donations to St Teresa's Hospice, Darlington and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Hairdresser Sandra Tennant performed the honours.
A total of £417 was raised on the day. That figure has since increased to £1,650 through on-line donations, and hopefully will reach a target of £2000.
Donations can be made through Virgin Money Giving, a not for profit organisation which will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. Go to http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/DenyAcloseshave if you would like to contribute.
