POLICE are renewing their appeal to find the owner of a Stafforshire Bull terrier that bit a three-year-old and his brother.

The incident occurred near Clifton Bridge, York at about 4pm on June 26.

A three-year-old boy suffered dog bites to his chest and shoulder seconds after his older brother had been attacked by the animal during a family picnic.

The dog is described as a brown Staffordshire Bull terrier/Labrador cross or an American Staffordshire terrier.

Pc Wesley Cooper said: "I would like to thank the members of the public who have come forward with information to assist the inquiry so far.

"Unfortunately, we have been able to trace the owner.

"A small child and his family have been deeply upset by this incident and I am issuing a renewed appeal for information."
