Police investigations are continuing into a "tragic incident" in which one man died and another was seriously injured.

North Yorkshire Police say they were called out to Harcourt Drive in Harrogate at 7.15pm on Sunday evening.

They revealed two men had sustained injuries, one was taken to hospital and is undergoing treatment, but a second man was prounouned dead at the scene.

Detectives said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.

Detective Inspector Steve Menzies of the Major Crime Team, said: "I can reassure the residents of Harrogate that this is a tragic and isolated incident and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with it.

"Our thoughts and sincere condolences go out to the family of the man who sadly lost his life. Further details will be released when possible."

He appealed for anyone who witnessed or recorded the incident or who had information to contact the police.
