AN AWARD-winning country retreat, Middleton Lodge Estate, has created an all-new outdoor dining experience at its Coach House restaurant.

A stretch tent has been positioned over The Coach House courtyard, where restaurant and hotel guests can dine out in the open air for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Designed by estate owners James and Rebecca Allison, the structure has been created to compliment the peaceful outdoor setting, with relaxed lighting and natural colour tones. Part of the courtyard seating remains uncovered, so guests also have the option to enjoy the sunshine should they wish.

Diners can now enjoy a new summer menu curated by the restaurant’s chef Gareth Rayner, inspired by ingredients from the estate’s ever-changing kitchen garden.

The estate’s talented sommeliers and mixologists have also created a summer wine and garden cocktail menu, with choices perfect for an al fresco drink in the sun.

James Allison, owner of Middleton Lodge Estate, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming guests back to the estate.

“The team has worked very hard to create the new space where guests can relax. Our new al fresco dining area allows people to unwind, catch up and enjoy the Yorkshire countryside over a bite to eat or something to drink in a safe, socially distanced environment.

“Guests can feel completely reassured that the safety measures and hygiene protocols in place are an extension of our high standards of cleanliness and service.”

Reservations for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant’s new al fresco dining area can be made from Thursday, July 23. Reservations are required ahead of visiting the estate. Reservations of up to eight guests can be made so long as they are in the same social distancing bubble or from two households.

As part of the estate’s new measures to protect guests and staff, individual temperature checks will take place on arrival and guests will be asked to share their contact details once seated.

Table service will take place for all diners, and tables are positioned 2m apart to allow for safe social distancing at all times. Hand sanitising stations are at various points as well as plenty of signage to remind people to stay 2m apart and wash their hands regularly. The restaurant and all seating areas will be closed for a deep clean twice each day.
