A NEW video has been released to boost footfall in Northallerton town centre and showcase it as a safe and attractive place to shop.
The video, which was commissioned by Northallerton Business Improvement District (BID), is designed to give shoppers confidence to return to the High Street after months of enforced lockdown.
It shows how traders have worked hard to adopt new safety regulations and boost business with delivery services.
BID manager Graham Bell said: “We want to shout and make a noise about what a great place Northallerton is to shop and do business.
“This really is the time to make the most of our wonderful mixture of quality independent stores and national brands.
"Our message is ‘shop local’.”
Mr Bell said that businesses had been showing 'real ingenuity' by diversifying during lockdown.
Safe shopping and social distancing have been enhanced by the temporary closure of the High Street to traffic on Wednesday and Saturday market days - a decision that has been welcomed by visitors and locals alike.
