A COUNTRY house is preparing to re-open this weekend with a Hollywood-style movie trailer to entice guests to visit.

Kiplin Hall, between Scorton and Northallerton, will re-open on Saturday, July 4.

Samantha Jennings, marketing officer, said: “Since reopening the Gardens in early June we’ve seen a huge increase in our family audience.

"We are working with local firm Proper Pizzas to offer freshly baked pizza picnics on site.

"The beautiful gardens and open spaces have proved to be a real draw as people cautiously step out of lockdown.

"We are also getting lots of visitors from very nearby. For people living in Northallerton, Richmond, Thirsk, Darlington, and the surrounding villages, Kiplin is on their doorstep.

"But like many of us, we don’t always find time to visit what is close to home.

"Rather we drive for hours to other attractions.

"The lockdown has changed people’s habits and they are rediscovering their doorstep attractions.”

“As we prepare the Hall to reopen we wanted to excite our new visitors about what is inside as much as what is outside.

"Many of the stories of the past residents of Kiplin Hall centre on the theme of travel, adventure, and treasures from far flung lands.

"So, we created a Hollywood-style movie trailer mirroring the Indiana Jones Films.

"We hope this will grab people’s attention online and encourage them to visit.

"By staying local in lockdown people can still explore stories from around the world by visiting Kiplin.

"The trailer has already had more than 2,000 views on our Facebook page.”

You can view the dramatic trailer online via the Kipln Hall YouTube channel or search for ‘Kiplin Hall’ on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. The lockdown has meant that many small businesses and attractions have had to think very creatively to survive, following rules and restrictions whilst reassuring customers it is safe to visit.

Director of Kiplin Hall and Gardens, James Etherington, added: “We are taking covid security very seriously onsite, taking all of the precautions you’d expect.

"We hope the trailer will make people smile and help Kiplin to stand out in people’s minds as a place to visit.

"Thank you to everyone who has visited the gardens so far, and adhered to the social distancing procedures in place.”

Since the lifting of lockdown restrictions, Kiplin Hall and Gardens have restructured ticket prices.

All tickets are now valid in the house and gardens, so if you have visited the gardens in June you can return to visit the hall, from Saturday, for free.

The reopening is part of a phased plan, current open hours are 10am to 5pm three days per week on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This may increase in the coming months, please check the website or social media before travelling. Visit www.kiplinhall.co.uk.
