COMMUNITY groups across Hambleton have have benefitted from a new grant scheme set up to offer support through the coronavirus pandemic.
The 13 groups have received a share of £5,270 to help them support vulnerable people and emerging community issues.
But the Hambleton District Council scheme still has another £6,000 to hand out and is urging organisations to apply.
The Community Response grants offer voluntary and community groups emergency funding to help support those who are most vulnerable in the community and who are shielding or self-isolating.
Grants of up to £500 are available to help with costs of initiatives that are providing food supplies, prescription delivery services, telephone befriending services or communication costs to reduce isolation.
To qualify the groups must be a voluntary organisation, community group, small charity or other not for profit organisation. Visit hambleton.gov.uk to apply.
