A CALL for help to create an iconic piece of land art to celebrate the visit of the Tour de Yorkshire to Richmondshire has gone out.

Richmondshire District Council is looking for an artist to design, create and install the temporary artwork which will need to depict the district, be bold, weatherproof and large scale so it can be captured during TV coverage of the race.

The council has set aside £5000 for the commissioned piece which is inclusive of artist fees, materials, installation and travel. It must be fully installed by Tuesday April 28.
