THE driver of a mini who knocked down a pedestrian before fleeing the scene and leaving behind their car is being hunted by North Yorkshire police.

The 58 year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries. on Sunday January 26 around 8.50am after the crash on Knaresborough road, Starbeck Harrogate.

The driver of the grey Mini Cooper convertible was travelling from Starbeck towards Harrogate when it left the road near the Lookers Ford garage and hit the 58-year old man.

The vehicle which has no registered keeper, came to rest on the pavement, the driver ran way from the scene abandoning the car.

The injured pedestrian was taken to Leeds Gneral Infirmary where he is currently being treated for serious injuries.
