STAFF at a Wensleydale company has raised money for St Teresa’s Hospice in Darlington in memory of a colleague.

121 Workwear Ltd, in Constable Burton, has donated £1,080 to the charity following the death of staff member, Jill Breach, in August.

Ms Breach had worked for the company since its launch in 2013 and helped to make it a success.

She spent her final days being cared for at St Teresa’s Hospice in Darlington and the care she received there was outstanding, said 121 managing director AJ Swinbank.

“The kindness, compassion and dedication of the staff and nurses was amazing, and the support offered to her family and friends at that very hard time was truly overwhelming,” he added.

St Teresa’s Hospice is an independent registered charity which provides palliative and end of life care and support to residents of South Durham and North Yorkshire, and their carers.

They need to raise over £3 million each year to enable them to continue to provide vital services to people in the community at times of great need.

121 Workwear arranged a charity night in Ms Breach's honour on November 8 at The Black Horse, Kirkby Fleetham.

Their intention was to raise as much money as possible with a pub quiz, raffle and general donations and the support they received during the night by past and current colleagues, close friends and family made it a big success.

Ms Breach's partner Julien Hillman attended this event.

He was touched by the humanity and generosity of those who supported this event and thanked everyone involved.

Jane Bradshaw, chief executive of St Teresa’s Hospice, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the staff of 121 Workwear for their outstanding fundraising efforts in memory of Jill.

“The death of a colleague is always difficult, but bringing everyone together to organise a fundraising event is a wonderful way to remember Jill and to ensure that the care and support she received can be available to others at their time of need."
