PASSENGERS on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway are in for an illuminating journey on the iconic line this Christmas.
The Northern Lights Express runs from Pickering station to Levisham and the train boasts heritage carriages decorated with thousands of lights.
The hour-long journey takes passengers through an enchanted forest, transformed by a multitude of lights and surprises.
A dazzling lights show awaits at Levisham as the train is prepared for the return journey to Pickering.
Chris Price, NYMR general manager said: “Northern Lights Express services are not to be missed. "The new event is going to be a light spectacular event, which will not only illuminate the North York Moors, but also engage a new audience”
The Northern Lights Express will launched on Saturday and will operateon the following dates in December; 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23.
It departs at 7pm, although selected dates also have a 5pm departure.
The Northern Lights Express costs £25 per person; wheelchair users can travel onboard but spaces are limited so early booking is advised.
