A GROUP of council staff, past and present handed over food and cash to a community partnership which provides emergency food parcels for people who would otherwise have to go hungry.
The group from Hambleton District Council took part in a knockout competition playing darts and pool at the Oddfellows Arms in Northallerton, organised by district council employee Lynne Richardson with help from landlords Terry and Nicola Taggart.
Staff had to pay to enter and donate an item of food for the foodbank.
Ms Richardson said: “As the council heavily supports the Hambleton FoodShare scheme, and with Christmas just around the corner we decided to show our support whilst having fun at the same time.”
They donated a total of £160.
