DUE to the restrictions placed on public bodies including the NHS in the run up to the general election, two Friarage Hospital consultation events have been cancelled.

The consultation into the hospital's urgent treatment service will continue, however two public events have been cancelled; Masham on November 29 and Northallerton on December 2.

The local CCG says the events have been withdrawn because they were unable to publicise them further due to the upcoming election.

An advert previously appeared in the Northern Echo which included these event dates.

The consultation period which was due to finish on December 6 will be extended to January 17, 2020 to allow for extra event dates to be added.
