AN artist who draws inspiration from the abundance of animals in the Dales landscape has been named as having one of the best rural businesses in the North.

Stacey Moore from Hawes was named best Creative Business at the North regional finals of the Rural Business Awards which were recently held at Newcastle University.

Following the impressive achievement at the regional final, Stacey Moore Ltd will now go on to represent the North at the national final in February 2020.

Ms Moore is one of Yorkshire’s best selling coloured pencil artists, specialising in fine art drawings of British wildlife and farm animals.

In early spring 2016 she pursued her dreams and opened up The Stacey Moore Gallery in her hometown of Hawes.

Her original drawings and limited edition prints are now highly sought after by animal lovers across the world.

She said: “I was absolutely thrilled when I found out I had won ‘Best Creative business’ in the North at the rural awards, its great to see my small business been recognised nationally and shining a spotlight on The Dales.”

Now in its fifth year, the Rural Business Awards is the only UK-wide programme dedicated to showcasing rural businesses, run in partnership with Amazon.
