NORTHALLERTON Mencap welcomed a VIP guest to help celebrate the launch of their 2020 calendar.

Former Conservative party leader - and former Richmond MP - William Hague popped in to the Northallerton and Dales Mencap HQ to meet volunteers and the stars of the new calendar.

Titled 'Our Life, Our Choice', the calendar is a celebration of the capabilities of disabled people.

Each month depicts Mencap members from Hambleton and Richmondshire taking part in activities they enjoy and that enrich their lives.

Mr Hague visited the centre in Northallerton to congratulate the group on the completion of the calendar.
