A COUNCIL has launched a new scheme to help householders facing high energy bills reduce their spending through improvements to central heating.

Richmondshire District Council has launched the scheme, which will provide in most cases, qualifying residents with insulation, A-rated boilers and central heating without charge.

Managed by YES Energy Solutions, elderly residents, those with a young family, pregnant or those with certain health conditions, can apply for the funding scheme.

Richmondshire District Councillor Philip Wicks said: “This scheme is a fantastic opportunity for Richmondshire residents to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.

“Residents in the scheme will be able to live in warmer and cosier homes this winter by making their fuel bills more affordable.”

“The launch of this scheme will help householders prepare for winter with a range of measures while reducing their contribution to climate change.”

YES Energy Solutions said the scheme would be rolled out on a 'first come first served' basis.

Installations will be completed through YES Energy Solutions' network of accredited contractors from across North Yorkshire.
