A COMMUNITY group is organising a festival to showcase the many activities for older people that take place in and around Thirsk.
Thirsk Community Care is hosting the ‘Ageing Well Festival’ on October 11 at Thirsk Town Hall where visitors will get the chance to try taster sessions boccia, singing, knitting, computers, as well as finding out about keeping safe and the support that can be accessed.
The festival will also see the launch of the ‘Hambleton Together Directory’ which gives contact details of things people can join and engage in.
There will be a complimentary minibus which will collect people from their homes if needed and light refreshments will be available.
The festival runs from 1pm until 4.30pm and anybody needing transport to the event can contact 01845-523115.
