THE largest pass off parade of the Foots Guards in recent years took place at Catterick Garrison Infantry Training Centre last week.

On Friday, September 27, 55 guardsmen from two platoons conducted drill in front of more than 500 family and friends, with thousands more watching online.

The Inspecting Officer was Major General Ben Bathurst CBE, the General Officer Commanding of London District, who is in charge of both the Foot Guards and all ceremonial occasions in London. Major General Bathurst complimented the recruits on their drill and turnout, comparing them favourably to the standard at Trooping the Colour, the world-famous event for the Foot Guards.

Major General Bathurst praised the recruits on making it through the 28-week course. The guardsmen have been among the first to experience the new infantry training course, with better learning technologies, an updated syllabus and physical training elements.
