CARE staff in North Yorkshire are celebrating after being shortlisted for a national award.

South Hambleton and Ryedale Primary Care Network within NHS Vale of York CCG has been shortlisted for a National Association of Primary Care award for improving elderly provision.

Winning the award would highlight the significant commitment to South Hambleton and Ryedale’s elderly population and the support which has been established across seven GP practices.

This includes a specialist dementia co-ordinator post which is the first of its type in the Vale of York.

Dr Paula Evans, clinical director of the Network, said that the team was 'delighted' to make the shortlist.

The winners will be announced at an awards dinner on October 9.
