A HAPPY couple who met at a young farmers' dance have celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.
Kenneth and Betty Donald, of West Rounton, near Northallerton, married at Gilling West parish church on August 8, 1959. They spent their married life farming and raising four children at Mount Pleasant Farm, West Rounton, and now live at Ashtree House, opposite the farm.
Mr and Mrs Donald, who met at a young farmers’ dance at the King’s Head in Richmond, celebrated their anniversary at Allerton Court Hotel, Northallerton.
