OUTDOOR Shakespeare and a Teddy Bear's Picnic are two of the events coming soon to Newby Hall this summer.

On Friday evening, August 23, theatre company the

Lord Chamberlain’s Men

will be performing ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ on the West Lawn at the stately home near Ripon.

The company are celebrating their 15th birthday and an impressive 425-years since the original company was created.

To celebrate this special anniversary, they are touring one of Shakespeare’s most popular and best-loved comedies.

With audiences encouraged to bring picnics, a chair or a blanket and a glass of something chilled, the show promises to be another authentic treat from the company.

Meanwhile, an event to excite the younger visitors is the ever-popular Teddy Bears Picnic which takes place in the grounds of the hall on August 28.
