AN OPEN air cinema is being staged to celebrate the visit of the world’s leading cyclists to Richmond next month – and local people are being invited to choose which films will be screened.
Richmond Town Council is hosting the event following the UCI World Cycling Championships on Thursday, September 26. Market Place will be turned into an open air cinema for the first, child friendly film at 4.30pm, and a second film at 7.30pm.
An online poll has been set up on Richmondshire District Council’s Facebook site. It closes on September 6. The film choices at 4.30pm are: Toy Story, Early Man, Paddington, The Lego Movie, The Incredibles, Peter Rabbit and Despicable Me. And at 7.30pm the choices are: Mamma Mia, Grease, Bohemian Rhapsody and The Greatest Showman. The event is free to attend. Filmgoers will need a chair.
