AN artist who has honed her wildlife drawing skills in the Yorkshire Dales has been shortlisted for a Rural Business Award.

Hawes-based Stacey Moore has reached the finals in the North Best Rural Creative business category of the awards which are run in partnership with online retail giant Amazon.

Ms Moore will now battle it out against fellow rural businesses, entrepreneurs and enterprises from across the North for a place at the national final.

She is already one of Yorkshire’s best selling coloured pencil artists, specialising in fine art drawings of British wildlife and farm animals.

In early spring 2016 she pursued her dreams and opened up The Stacey Moore Gallery in her hometown of Hawes.

Speaking after being shortlisted, Ms Moore said: “I was delighted when I found out I had made it to the finals of the rural awards, its great to see my small business been recognized nationally and shining a spotlight on the Dales.”

This is the Awards’ fifth year of celebrating the success of businesses across the rural economy – a segment which employs in excess of 3.4 million people in over 750,000 businesses in England alone. The North's winners will be announced on October 11.
