KNITTERS who are rolling out the bunting to welcome the UCI world champion riders to Northallerton are appealing for help.
Barkers Knit and Natter and Romanby Knit and Stitch are appealing for wool to help them create hundreds of yards of bunting.
They need white, red, blue, green, yellow and black yarn – remnants or full balls will be accepted at the drop off points at Northallerton Town Hall, the district council offices at Stone Cross, Northallerton and Northallerton Leisure Centre.
Councillor Bridget Fortune, portfolio holder for leisure, said: "Along with the plans already in place – for a best dressed shop window competition, flags and painted bikes – the town is going to put on a great display for the visiting cyclists and their followers."
