AN annual car show is set to see thousands of visitors return after months of planning.

On Saturday, petrolheads, classic car enthusiasts and members of the public from across North Yorkshire and the North-East will attend the eighth Classics on Show event.

The all-day event, which has been organised by the Rotary Club of Stokesley, will take over the Showfield in Stokesley, with a selection of classic and rare vehicles, some of which of historical importance.

In the run up to the event, the Rotary Club of Stokesley has promised visitors, an appearance from the stars of a popular TV show, rare Corvette’s, a Steam Roller dating to the 1920s and the chance to see one of six rare Aston Martin Coupe’s commissioned for the well-known, Lancelot Prideaux-Brune.

Hundreds of other classic and historic vehicles will be proudly displayed in all of their glory, on the day.

A last minute revelation, stars from UKTV’s ‘Bangers & Cash’ TV programme are confirmed to be attending.

With just weeks to go, it had been revealed Derek Mathewson and his team, based in Thornton-Le-Dale and restore old cars to new, would be in attendance of the show for their third time.

Speaking at the time, Mr Mathewson said: “We’ve had a phenomenal response with people getting in touch on our social media sites from all over the place and calling in to see us.

“I love the Stokesley show, it’s one of the best on the annual circuit and attracts real classics and enthusiasts.

“We look forward to meeting Bangers & Cash fans there.”

Chris Mayes, Rotary Club of Stokesley president, added: "We're expecting around 300 classics cars, it's obviously a little bit weather dependent, but were expecting about 2,000 people, who are hopefully going to attend. We are also very pleased to see the Mathewsons come again."

Ahead of the event entry details have been released.

Visiting members of the public pay £6, or £14 for a family ticket. For additional information visit classicsonshow.co.uk.
