A FAT cat is looking for a forever home that will enable him to exercise more freely and shed the pounds.
The Blue Cross in Topcliffe, Thirsk, are calling out to animal lovers to find a new home for a giant ginger cat called Marmaduke.
The obese feline weighs in at over seven kilos and is now on a strict diet and exercise regime to help him lose his bulk and reach a target weight of around four kilos.
Marmaduke is ten years old and despite his bulk is a very active cat.
He likes to play with his toys and do some exploring so he would like a home where he can venture into the garden.
Whilst he is losing weight at the centre, staff are holing for him to have a home where he can get more exercise than he is able to in the cattery.
Will Lamping, Blue Cross centre manager, said: βIt is vital we help Marmaduke shed the pounds.β
