A FESTIVAL of arts and music has teamed up with the Yorkshire Dales Brewery to create a new beer to celebrate the festival.

Brewed from American mosaic and centennial hops, Swaledale Festivale is light and fruity in character, with refreshing hoppy notes, reflecting the fresh and natural character of the Yorkshire Dales.

Malcolm Creese, festival director, said: “Yorkshire Dales Brewery produces a range of exceptional beers and it’s a real thrill to have one to celebrate our festival."

Swaledale Festivale has been brewed by Anne and Rob Dinsdale at the Askrigg-based Yorkshire Dales Brewery, especially for the Swaledale Festival.

Swaledale Festivale will be available for a couple of weeks leading up to Swaledale Festival, and then for the Festival fortnight itself.

The Bridge Inn at Grinton in Swaledale, as well as many other local pubs, will sell the beer on draft, as will the Yorkshire Dales Brewery itself which has a brewery tap on site for pre-booked events.

Mr Creese said: "Swaledale Festival is keen to work with local businesses and charities to promote the beauty and the unique craftsmanship of our stunning Yorkshire Dales. "

Mrs Dinsdale added:: “We’re proud to support local charities and community events, and it’s wonderful to celebrate our relationship with the Swaledale Festival in this way.

There are more than 60 events in this year’s festival, which takes place from May 25 to June 8 across Swaledale, Wensleydale and Arkengarthdale. Visit www.swalefest.org for more details and to book tickets.
