A LEADING anthropologist will be giving a talk on 'Digging into Britain's Past' when she visits the region next month.

Professor Alice Roberts will be bringing her show to The Garden Rooms at Tennants in Leyburn as part of a nationwide tour.

She will share insights, anecdotes and behind-the-scenes stories from her personal journey to explore Britain’s past, with footage from her programmes and excerpts from her books. The show will finish with 20 minutes of Q&A.

As an anthropologist, author and broadcaster Prof Roberts has been delving into Britain’s past and making archaeology programmes for nearly twenty years.

She first became known to television audiences through her appearance as a human bone specialist on Channel 4’s Time Team before going on to present Coast on BBC2 and then to write and present a range of television series including The Incredible Human Journey.
