A COUNCIL has revealed that the delivery of some polling cards for the European elections will be delayed.
On Tuesday, Hambleton District Council said it was 'working with its print provider' to ensure that voters poll cards would be delivered as soon as possible.
However, the council said it was reminding electors that other forms of voting in the up and coming Members of European Parliament elections on May 23 were available.
The council said those who were unable to vote at a polling station could apply to vote via proxy.
Applications to vote in this way, which means a vote can be cast on an individual's behalf, will close by 5pm on Wednesday, May 15.
Usually, a polling card is sent to those who are registered to vote, and contains details of their closest polling station.
During polling, voters are not required to bring their polling cards to the station.
The Northern Echo contacted Hambleton District Council who said they had nothing further to add.
For additional information telephone Hambleton District Council on 01609-767228 or for proxy applications visit hambleton.gov.uk.
