ARTISTS raised over £600 for a hospital charity close to their hearts through regular events and a special exhibition of work.

Members of the Tuesday Art Group in Romanby, Northallerton, meet at the WI Hall every week to practice their art and support each other. Their annual exhibition was well attended with a raffle and refreshments which helped raise money for the Friends.

Chairman of the Friends Donna Jermyn said: "We wanted to say a huge thank you to Paula Robinson and everyone in the Tuesday Art Group for raising a fantastic £600 for the Friends of the Friarage. Thank you all for your support.

"We have been supporting the Friarage Hospital for over 60 years. In that time we have contributed over £5 million to support projects and purchase equipment to help the hospital stay at the forefront of modern clinical care and we will continue to do so. Every two years we carry out an audit to ensure equipment we have funded remains at the Friarage, our most recent audit demonstrated that everything purchased in the last seven years is still at the hospital."
