COUNCILLORS have pledged to reopen two public toilet blocks which had to close following serious vandalism.
Richmondshire District Council councillors said the toilets at Nuns Close and at The Falls in Richmond
had to close earlier this week due to damage.
Corporate director Colin Dales said: “We apologise for the problems these closures cause but we need to work on repairing the damage and preventing future vandalism.
“We are eager to re-open as soon as possible and work with the police and local residents on combatting this anti-social behaviour.” The council said they are working with police to encourage residents to report suspicious activity at public places. Alternative toilets remain open in the Market Hall in Richmond.
