A NEW trail tracing the route of a town's magnificent seven groundbreaking furniture makers has been created.
The Thirsk trail now takes in seven specialist woodworking businesses in and around the market town including; Treske, Beaver, Coxwold, Graham Duncalf, Carthouse, Old Mill and Squirrel.
Justin Bartlett, Managing Director of Treske said: "The area is rich in cabinet making skills and has a wealth of furniture making companies with workshops and showrooms.
"This trail is a collection of our ‘magnificent seven’ craft workshops and is one of the keys to keeping the traditions of woodworking alive in and around the town.
"It provides a focus for people to find out about commissioning their own special pieces from a furniture maker whose style they like. Many customers who first visited through the trail have become customers for life.
"The concentration of woodwork skills in our area is special and we need to look after it."
The Trail was originally started in 1990 and is supported by Hambleton District Council’s vibrant market towns initiative.
