THE World of James Herriot in Thirsk has launched a Russian language version of its website to keep fans in Russia tuned in.
The attraction, based around the life of vet Alf Wight who wrote as Herriot, has a huge following in Russia, welcoming many Russian visitors each year.
Moscow’s State Darwin Museum even held a James Herriot Exhibition in 2017.
Director Ian Ashton said: “Our aim is to open up Herriot Country and its many attractions to Herriot fans and others in Russian-speaking countries following our successful mission to Moscow. It doesn’t seem fair to keep all this wonderful stuff to ourselves.”
