ENTHUSIASTIC school children have won a council school competition to promote correct dog ownership.
Pippa Allen, Selina Baumane, and Theo Sawdon of Norton Primary School won Ryedale District Council’s #DontBeAWaster competition.
The competition focussed on dog fouling, and looked for ways to promote responsible dog ownership.
Pippa achieved first prize for an interview she had done with a ‘responsible dog owner,’ whilst Selina secured the second prize for a dog care chart.
Theo, who came third, was recognised for his ‘responsible dog ownership photo manual.’
Councillor Luke Ives of the council said: “This competition has been a great way to get the next generation of dog owners involved in our campaign to encourage responsible dog ownership.
“All dog owners should pick up after their pet – and bag it and bin it, either in a dog waste bin or a regular litter bin. “Congratulations to all three winners.”
