FINAL preparations are being made for this year’s festive markets taking place across Hambleton in the run up to Christmas.

Most of the markets are operating as normal throughout the Christmas season with the following changes; there will be extra markets in Northallerton and Bedale on Christmas Eve and there will be no market in Bedale on Christmas day or New Years Day.

There is also no market in Northallerton on Boxing Day.

Councillor Isobel Sanderson, Portfolio Holder for Governance, said: “The weekly markets sell everything from cauliflowers to cards, socks to sweets and purses to plants.

“They are well worth a visit, you may pick up some great Christmas presents and are supporting the local economy at the same time.”

Markets are held in Northallerton on Wednesday and Saturdays, Thirsk on Mondays and Saturdays, Bedale on Tuesdays and Easingwold and Stokesley on Fridays.
